Mother of Child C

It has been such a positive experience for my daughter, it has helped her with her impulses and regulation of her emotions"

I am the mother of a 7 year-old daughter whom I adopted at 8 months old. Over the past 5 years she has been diagnosed with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and attachment anxiety. We have been extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to access Equine Therapy. It has been such a positive experience for my daughter, it has helped her with her impulses and regulation of her emotions and most importantly she has built a great relationship with Sarah and the ponies.

Mother of Child E

“As parents we feel that these sessions have enabled E to regulate her emotions, which has benefited her and our relationship. She is more communicative and is socialising more with family and friends.”

E absolutely loved the sessions with Sarah. She built up a positive relationship with her from the word go and made her feel at ease which lessened her feelings of anxiety. E has looked forward to her weekly sessions and has found them beneficial. She enjoyed spending time with the horses and engaging with Sarah. As parents we feel that these sessions have enabled E to regulate her emotions, which has benefited her and our relationship. She is more communicative and is socialising more with family and friends. She is less withdrawn and family relationships have improved.

“The sessions are focused around my child’s individual needs regarding his emotional regulation difficulties. The work being done in sessions can be transferred into school and home life.”

The best thing about the sessions is that they have helped C learn how to cope with school and the challenges that brings. The sessions are focused around my child’s individual needs regarding his emotional regulation difficulties. The work being done in sessions can be transferred into school and home life. We have seen improvements in his ability to regulated when he is becoming emotionally dis-regulated. He is now able to label his feelings and let us know what he needs to help regulate.
